How to Set up Revenue Centre

How to Configure Revenue Centre to match the needs of your business. This article will help you with general settings, how to set up a Revenue Streams, and how to Map your Revenue Streams to your Locations and Schedules

Updated this week

Please note: You will need Admin Access to configure the settings for Revenue Centre in your Bizimply Account.

How to Set Up Revenue Centre

  1. Click on your name/email in the top right-hand corner

  2. In the dropdown menu select Settings

  3. On the left-hand side select "Revenue" and then "Revenue Streams"

  4. In the General Settings, choose your start Day of the week. We recommend you match this to your Dashboard, Schedule, Timecard and Forecasting Settings.

  5. Decide how you would like to View Sales. You can choose in Daily increments, Hourly increments, or 15-minute increments by selecting the relevant button.

If you are entering sales manually, you may prefer to stick to Daily Increments. If you have an integration with your POS, having 15-minute increments will help you to deep-dive into your data.

If you choose Hourly Increments, you can also see Daily totals. If you choose 15-minute increments, you can also see Hourly and Daily totals.

  6. Choose a starting time for when your sales begin in the dropdown menu. This will be the first line of data to appear on your Revenue page, so be sure to account for all possibilities.

How to Set up Revenue Streams

Please note: if you were previously entering in Sales information into your Shiftlog, this information will automatically appear in your account as a Revenue Stream.

You can edit this Revenue Stream name, assign it an ID if you need, or delete it entirely. We WOULD NOT recommend deleting it as you will then lose data previously held in your account. It is preferable to keep the stream, but just don't map it to a location or schedule if you no longer wish to use it going forward e.g. If you used to log Daily sales, but going forward you will switch to Hourly sales, simply leave the Stream in the account, but ignore it in the Mapping stage.

Creating A New Revenue Stream

  1. Click "Add Revenue Stream"

  2. In the box that appears, enter a name for that revenue Stream e.g. Food or Drinks.

  3. Enter a Revenue Stream ID if it is needed for your POS integration. You can leave it blank if not needed

  4. Click "Save"

You can have as many revenue streams as you need. If you just need total sales rather than different types of sales, you can just enter "Total Sales".

Tip: Try to keep Revenue Stream names generic - there's no need to create them by schedule or location e.g. You only need to create a Food Revenue stream and a Drink Revenue Stream to apply to all locations in your account. You don't need a "London Food Revenue" or "Dublin Food Revenue" stream.

The exception to this is if you have different POS for different locations which will need to be mapped with different streams.

How to Map Revenue Streams

Underneath "Mapping" in Revenue Streams, you should see every location in your account.

  1. Click onto one of your Locations under Mapping by clicking on the small downward arrow

  2. You will be presented with all the Revenue streams you have created. Choose how many of these you would like to track in the Revenue Centre for this Location by checking the box

  3. You can also choose if you would like to track this Revenue Stream against one or more Schedules in the Location. This will help compare labour hours information against revenue, creating Labour Sales % for each schedule on the Dashboard for that Location. Click onto each schedule you want mapped in the dropdown provided to the right of the checkbox

  4. All selections will be saved instantly, and can be easily changed if needed.

How to Configure Revenue Mapping to Your Business Needs

If you want to have a Labour Sales % on your Location Dashboard based on one or more Revenue streams against all Schedules in a Location, you should tick the streams you wish to Map to the Location, but do not map them to Schedules.

If you want to have a Labour Sales % on your Dashboard based on one revenue stream assigned to multiple Schedules, to provide an accurate labour sales % for each Schedule, map all Schedules to the Revenue Stream

If you would like to have a Labour Sales % of a Revenue Stream tied to one specific Schedule, map the Revenue Stream to the corresponding Schedule in the Location

Please note: if you have an old revenue stream from your Shiftlog which you will no longer be using, do not delete the stream. Just keep it unticked under all Locations.
