Resolving Common Scheduling Issues in Bizimply

Managing employee schedules in Bizimply can sometimes present challenges, such as duplicate shifts, clock-in errors, or missing schedules. This article provides step-by-step solutions to these common issues and offers preventive measures to streamline your scheduling process.

Common Scheduling Issues and Solutions

1. Resolving Duplicate Shifts

Duplicate or old shifts may reappear on schedules due to various reasons. Here’s how to address them:

  • Shifts Marked as 'Unavailable': If old shifts still appear after changing an employee's location or schedule, it may be because shifts marked as 'Unavailable' are applied to a future schedule. To resolve this: - Temporarily add the employees back to the old location. - Delete the unwanted shifts. - Remove the employees from the old location again.

  • Copied Schedules: Old shifts can also reappear if schedules are copied from previous weeks. To prevent this: - Avoid copying schedules from prior weeks. - Start each new schedule from a fresh template.

2. Correcting Clock-in Errors

Employees’ hours may appear under the wrong schedule if they clock in at an incorrect location. To fix this:

  • Ensure employees select the correct location when clocking in using the TimeStation.

  • If employees are not prompted to select a location, check the TimeStation iPad configuration. It may be set up for a single location only. Reconfigure it to allow location selection if necessary.

3. Enabling and Managing Schedules for Locations

If a specific schedule does not appear when assigning an employee to a location, it may not be enabled for that location. To enable it:

  1. Navigate to the relevant location in Bizimply.

  2. Open the Schedules section.

  3. Click the Actions button (blue button).

  4. Select Schedule Settings.

  5. Toggle the missing schedule On for that location.

  6. Save the changes.

4. Removing Employees from Old Schedules

If employees still appear linked to an old schedule, verify if there are shifts applied to a future schedule. To resolve this:

  1. Temporarily add the employees back to the old schedule.

  2. Delete the shifts associated with the old schedule.

  3. Remove the employees from the old schedule.

Preventive Measures

  • Always start new schedules from a fresh template to avoid carrying over old shifts.

  • Regularly review and update TimeStation configurations to ensure accurate clock-ins.

  • Enable schedules for all relevant locations to avoid missing options when assigning employees.

By following these steps and preventive measures, you can effectively manage employee schedules in Bizimply and minimize common scheduling issues.
