Instant messaging allows employees to communicate quickly and conveniently, creating an easy way to keep the right employees in the loop at all times. If you’re using a public messaging platform to communicate with your staff, it’s likely you’ve run into problems like keeping track of which messages are being sent to whom and inadvertently sharing sensitive commercial information.

Bizimply Connect combines the convenience and power that comes from instant messaging with the security and business information in you Bizimply account.

In this article you will learn about:

Starting a 1:1 Chat

  1. Click on the Messages Tab, this displays all 1:1 chats and any group chats the user is a member of currently.

  2. If you currently have no chats, click 'Start A Conversation'

    Otherwise, Click the pen icon on the bottom right.

  3. Click 1:1 chat.

  4. Use the search screen to pick who you want to chat with.
    Note: This list is sorted by First Names A-Z

  5. Start chatting.

  6. This chat will now be added to you Messages screen.

Attaching a file in chat

If you'd like to send a file while chatting, click on the paperclip icon to the left of the chat box and select from the options below

The max upload size is 25mb. It is possible to upload the following document types:

  • Portable Document Format (.pdf)

  • MS Word Document (.doc)

  • MS PowerPoint (.ppt)

  • MS PowerPoint (.ppt) (alternative MIME type)

  • Excel (.xls)

  • MS Excel (.xls) (alternative MIME type)

  • PostScript (.ps)

  • ZIP (.zip)

  • CSV (Comma-Separated Values)

  • Plain Text (.txt)

  • RTF (Rich Text Format)

  • RTF (Rich Text Format) (alternative MIME type)

  • OpenDocument Text (.odt)

Creating Private Groups

  1. As above, click on the red button on the bottom right of the messages screen to start a chat

  2. Select Private Group

  3. Use the search bar to find the relevant people on the Select Participants page
    Note: This list is sorted by First Names A-Z

  4. Tick the names of the participants you'd like to add to the group

  5. Click 'Next'

  6. Add a group name and photo so you the group is easy to identify and hit 'Create'

  7. Start Chatting


Private Group Operators

In private groups, chat operators can :

  • Edit a groups icon/name

  • Add/remove participants

  • Mute other users

  • Delete other users messages

  • Promote users to operators

Chat operators can promote, mute or remove a participant by clicking on the three dots next to their name in the participants screen.

Chat operators can edit a group name and picture or add participants by clicking on the 'i' button beside the group name to bring up the Group Information Page.

Starting A Smart Group

  1. Click on the messages tab

  2. Click the pen symbol on the the bottom right to start a new chat

  3. Click Smart Group

  4. Select which locations, schedules and positions you want to include in this group

    NB: Smart groups update automatically and will always include which ever employees currently match the group criteria

  5. Name the group

  6. Add a group photo, if required

Pausing Notifications During Approved Time Off

  1. On MyZimply, click the menu button at the top left

  2. Click Notifications

  3. The setting at the bottom of the screen will determine whether or not notifications are paused during approved time off.

NB: This setting is active by default.
