Why Import Historical Timecard Data?
The Daily Average PTO feature calculates employees’ entitlements based on 13- or 52-week averages of timecard history.
If you’re a new Bizimply customer (or have new employees without timecard history), the system can’t calculate accurate daily averages until enough weeks have passed.
How to Import Historical Timecards Data
Step 1. Go to the Import Page
Navigate to Settings → Timecards → Import Historical Data.
Step 2. Download the Employee CSV Template
Click “Download Active Employee List” to get a pre-populated file of active employees.
Columns A–H are included.
Do not edit Column A (Employee ID).
Step 3. Fill in Historical Averages
Open the downloaded CSV.
For each employee, enter:
Column F: Average Weekly Hours
Column G: Average Weekly Days
Column H: Number of weeks to apply backwards
Columns B–E are there to help you identify employees but can be left as is
Save the file
Step 4. Choose Effective Date
In Bizimply, under “Apply adjustment for this date,” select the date of the last week the data should apply to.
Data will populate the Timecards as average amounts from the chosen week backwards by the amount of weeks in the reference period.
Step 5. Upload & Import
Click Choose file, upload your saved CSV.
Click Import to start the process.
The system validates your file and will show clear error messages if something needs fixing.
After Import
Your imported data will populate unapproved timecards, starting from the week of the date chosen and moving backwards.
Timecards are then reflected with the imported data. If you’ve uploaded a significant amount of data this may take a few minutes.
A note is added to each timecard imported entries so you can identify them later.
Important Notes
Bulk adjustments only affect main location and unapproved timecards.
At least one valid row is required in the CSV to proceed.
We recommend you collate the historical data needed up to the first week you started clocking in on Bizimply. This is because you can use the hours on Bizimply going forward to create your Average Day. Your payroll should be able to provide you with this information.
