How to split the data in one column into two columns

  1. Open up your Employee Timecards csv file exported from the Reports tab on Bizimply

  2. Click column B at the top of the report

  3. Right click column B

  4. Select 'Insert' from the drop down menu and a new blank column will appear

  5. Click column A at the top of the report

  6. Click into the 'Data' tab that appears at the top right of screen

  7. Select the 'Text to Columns' button

  8. A pop up will appear - ensure the 'Delimited' option is selected as the format and click 'Next >'

  9. In the next pop up, ensure that only the 'Tab' and 'Comma' options are selected and click 'Next >'

  10. In the next pop up, ensure column data format is 'General' and click 'Finish'

Now that the data has been split into two columns, you will need to remove the space in front of the First Name in column B.

  1. Highlight all the names listed in column B

  2. Click 'ctrl' and 'f' on the keyboard or on Mac, you can click 'Edit' at the very top of screen, select 'Find' from the drop down menu and click 'Replace...'

  3. A pop up window will appear - in the 'Find' field, click the spacebar on your keyboard once

  4. Ensure the 'Match case' box is selected

  5. Click the 'Replace' button at bottom left and then select the 'Replace All' button
