  • How to mark days as a Public/Bank Holiday

  • How to give access to others to mark Public/Bank Holidays

  • How to manage timecards for Public/Bank Holidays

  • How to ensure accurate reporting for Public/Bank Holidays

Note: You should only mark Public Holidays on your schedule if these are paid at a premium rate.

Marking a day as a Public Holiday affects payroll calculations but does not automatically create shifts or add hours.

How to mark days as a Public/Bank Holiday

  1. Sign into Bizimply

  2. Click into the Schedule from navigation bar

  3. Click on the date you require to mark as a Bank Holiday on the schedule

  4. A dialogue box will appear on the schedule with the day on it and will show the shifts scheduled for the day.

  5. Check the box labelled 'Mark as Public Holiday on schedule and timecards'at the bottom, which will be ticked and turn blue. If you are an Account Administrator, you will have a second option to 'Apply as Public Holiday in all locations'.

  6. The day label on the schedule will now go from grey to include diagonal grey stripes

  7. Hours worked on this day will now be calculated at the Public Holiday rate which can be assigned in the Payroll Section of an employee's profile

  8. If no pay rate has been assigned for Public Holidays then the hourly rate will be applied

Additional Notes

  • Marking a day as a Public Holiday changes how hours are calculated and paid but does not automatically add hours or create shifts.

  • Public Holiday hours may be automatically allocated if the date is marked as a public holiday in the schedule. To prevent this, remove the public holiday entry from the schedule for that date and location.

How to give access to others to mark Public/Bank Holidays

  1. Sign into Bizimply as Account Administrator

  2. Click your name at the top right of the screen

  3. Select 'Account Access' from the drop down menu

  4. Click the orange edit icon beside the role you wish to give permission to mark Public/Bank Holidays on the schedule

  5. Scroll down to the 'Schedule' heading and click 'Choose Options'

  6. Tick the 'Mark Public Holiday' check box

  7. Click save at the bottom of the screen

  8. This will allow all users who have this role to mark public holidays on the schedules they have access to. They will not have the option to mark public holidays on all locations as that is reserved for Account Administrators.

Adjusting Timecards for Public Holidays

To ensure that hours worked on public holidays are correctly represented:

  1. Mark Hours as Public Holiday: Amend the timecards by marking the relevant hours as public holiday.

  2. Save Changes: After making the adjustments, save the changes to the timecards.

  3. Verify in Reports: Check the reports to confirm that the hours are displayed under 'P.Hol.' If the option for public holiday is not available in the settings, refer to the Timecards Summary to ensure that the 'Public Holiday' row is featured. This row is essential for processing public holiday hours correctly.
